Neu Campus Planning (NCP) teamed with ELS (architecture) and SWA (landscape architecture) in developing the ten-year District Facilities Master Plan (DFMP) for the Ohlone Community College District (OCCD), located in the San Francisco East Bay with current campuses in Fremont and Newark, CA.  This is the third time that NCP has been engaged by OCCD, starting with master planing for both campuses in 2004; and then the design of the Newark campus in 2008, resulting in LEED Platinum certification in 2010 (first new campus to achieve this status in the USA).

The new DFMP started with a thorough review of the previous ten-year DFMP in terms of its objectives and accomplishments; and found that most of its desired outcomes had been accomplished until the arrival of the pandemic in early 2020. That in turn affected the OCCD 2020 -2025 Strategic Plan, resulting in revised planning themes for this new 2022 - 2032 DFMP as follow: Enhance Community Engagements; Promote Diversity Equity & Inclusion Advancements; Create Future Opportunities; and Continue Sustainability & Resiliency Efforts.

  • Sustainability Goals: LEED Platinum and Carbon Neutral (no credit purchases - 2032)
